oil
Pamela asked:

A friend of mine took his 2000 Dodge Dakota ( automatic transmission ) to a garage to have it repaired because the oil pressure kept dropping, They changed the oil pump and cleaned out the tube connected to the oil pump. Oil pressure was fine while idling in the garage, but when they took it out for a test drive the oil pressure dropped again. So they took the truck to the local Dodge dealership to have them connect it to the computer to see what was wrong with it. Nothing at all showed up on the computer. So the garage still doesn’t know what the problem is. Does anyone have any idea what’s causing the oil pressure to drop?

I just got a re-built engine installed in my van 6 months ago. My mechanic who is acting suspicious said that 10W 30 oil is good for winter and that he suggests using Castroil brand. Are these sound suggestions? Any other suggestions or advice? Also, if you know what kind of oil filter to buy with my oil purchase, that would be handy. Thanks for reading.
