My husband put a ton of Vicks vapor rub on my son last night because he has a nasty cough and cold. But this morning his pillowcase has all these oil type stains. I washed it and put baby powder on the stains to soak up the oil residue. But it still didn’t come out! Do you know of any other ways to get rid of them?

Many years ago, I worked at an upscale hotel. We used cheap shampoo for oily hair as a pre-treatment for oily stains. Make sure to launder in hot water (necessary for oily stains, but other stains should be laundered in cool water to prevent setting the stain). A friend uses dish detergent as a pre-treatment on oily stains with much sucess.
