Full details at http://www.pugetsystems.com/submerged.php Cooling a computer by submerging it in mineral oil. In an aquarium, it looks great!
GLEN
wonder what happens to the thermal paste after a year.
You know Xbox 360’s have overheat problems, wonder if anyone would try it out?
Haha. ***** regular aquariums, put your computer in one!
What if you want to take it out later? It would be a ****** to get all that oil off
That would be VERY heavy to move around.
ever thought of holding lan parties at your house so your friends have to bring their computers? and i highly doubt this is designed for gaming just for looks man
not if you make a mini radiator with it mate
They specially modded on a button underneath the black cover on the top, it’s also where the hard drive was placed.
Which is still so hot the case and components would be melting, along with cooking some of your flesh if you’re too close.
where is the power swish?
I would think the main issue that could arise is corrosion of the various plastics due to being submerged in oil. It might cause things to break-down much more quickly than before.
But MANY oils have the same boiling point as smoke point. Thus it would burn at the same temp that is boils.
that would be awesome
Virtually every liquid we can extract/manufacture CAN boil. However mineral oil for this usage would never reach a temperature that high.
No it’s not, many oils are not flammable.
Anybody know if theres any better cpu cooler that meets the height requirements?
Well, done, guys! I would do the same if I could )… with some artificial fishes
For the idiots out there that might tell me im wrong. Mineral Oil does have a boiling temp of 260C - 330C (500 - 626F) but will start to burn and smoke right away.
I read a bunch of the posts here and was looking how many fvcking retards think oil boils. IT DOES NOT!! FVCK TARDS Go back to school!!!!
mineral oil is 100% nonconductive
one day later … booooom
terrorist win
Cheap and ****! works too I hope!
yes i think so but not verry flamable and the oil will stay around room temp
water cooling, ghetto style
isn’t mineral oil flamable?
