It’s all about making money from oil. War, economy, everything is related to oil.
So sad that world powers do nothing to educate us on impending doom, we needed them to do something long ago - when they first heard of it from Hubbert and many other since. What a lie we have lived !
Perhaps they will find it in themselves to issue us all with a “sleeping pill” when the time comes - to put the “lights out” !

I grew up just 12 miles from Drake Well. An interesting side note is that in those early days gasoline was an unwanted byproduct and was dumped in the river.
The woman makes a false statement though. Oil is not drained in PA. There is still LOTS there it’s just much harder to extract. But with climbing prices those old wells are being re-opened.

People aren’t rich enough to push the government 
The people in the government do not differ from other people. Except that they’re a bit harder to bribe.
Fact is that energy is the core resource and the companies who handle it are not willing to support alternative energy resources as long as they can earn a fortune with a cheap resource like oil. Companies have no social responsibility at all. This is what hasn’t been understood. This is the price to pay for the reckless “free market”.
What I find that is hard to believe is that we haven’t pushed our governments to put more resources into alternative fuel options: ones that aren’t controlled by the super-rich, morally corrupt oil companies!!!
