During normal driving, I have noticed my oil pressure warning light coming on. This has happened twice, the most recent time the light flickered for about 2 minutes and then went off. Dip stick showed normal oil level both times. I have a chrysler Cirrus.

It could be the oil sending unit is going out. This part is generally a cheap part to buy if you can change it yourself it would be alot cheaper for you unless you want to take it in
Oil level won’t activate the light, low oil pressure or no oil pressure will have the light come on to warn you. If you see the oil light flashing or on again take a look at your oil gauge. If its on 0 psi and you have oil in the engine get the car into the mechanic and get it checked that way if the car isn’t getting oil properly it will be repaired before it does damage. Or it could be a sender for the oil pump. Just guesses not a mechanic all I can say is good luck
you have 1 of 3 things wrong with your car, 1 bad oil sending switch,2 you need to change your oil or 3 you have a motor which has no oil pressure
You might have the wrong viscosity oil. You also might have a lot of engine sludge that is clogging up your oil pressure relief valve or the oil pressure sending unit. You might consider an engine de-sludging and then switching to Mobil One synthetic oil. Ask at your dealership if this is a common problem for your particular model and year car. If it’s the sender unit, it may still be under warranty. Chrysler is supposed to have a great warranty. At least let someone ther evaluate this for you. You can check with NHTSA web site for any recall campaigns.
