MIDNIGHT OIL - Warakurna (Live) Newtown Theatre, Sydney NSW, Australia - July 18, 2000
GALEN
i’m watching this on the morning of the day I get to see Midnight Oil for the first time since 1985. Sheesh. Hoping they do this song tonight.
this band is great. they know what needs to be done, What have we done?
Incredible band!! Politics aside, great guitar players, great band all around! Makes it sound better than living in jersey with OUR aborigines!
Diesel and Dust songs always have that conviction live.
I couldnt agree more,
what a concert that would be,
they should begin with knifes edge
Word crimes
Bitter lies
Bitter crimes
Government lies
A total classic song!!! “White Law could be wrong. Black Law must be STRONG!!” God Bless Midnight Oil!!! Thanks for sharing this song!!!! Carry On!
Bones is the best late entry since Keiran Perking scraped into Lane 8 in Barcelona.
They’re the best live performers of all times!!!
Exact same story in the States; except we weren’t lucky enough to have our own Midnight Oil.
No problem my friend. The Australian Aborigines are basically left alone in the Outback (desert) unless their lands has minerals or oil. Therefore the Aboriginal people live in fear that a prospector such as Lasseter will arrive, find something valuable and get them forcibly removed from their tribal lands. Australia has a long history of this sort of thing, but it has improved greatly in the last decade. Midnight Oil did a lot to get this injustice placed on the political agenda.
I don’t get this reference. The line “Not since Lassiter was here” seems to indicate that things were better when Lassiter was “there”. Shouldn’t it be “Ever since Lassiter was here”? You’ll have to excuse my ignorance of Australian history.
Too good….nice performance. What a great song…..go lads
LEGENDS……..!
I only wish peter garet would realise that man made global warming is a huge lie passed down from the scummy world powers that wanna lower population by creating a crisis
i thought they were done for good. is that an aussie only tour
I got to see them in my hometown during their farewell tour. Great show!
