something you should know and i learned very well about economics is: “if there is more demand for a product, the higher the cost of that product will be”… meaning: if everyone gets the idea to use the veg oil, the estimate-need for veg oil will not be for the sole purpose of cooking, but for the cars also, and there are no small amount of cars… i said the cooking (fast food) oil cause they give it for free, otherwise they throw it away… hope you get the idea, take care, bye

Big deal!
USe regular fuel tank or have it in a trunk! Done!

Am…. just get the Veg oil from the store! it’s still cheaper then gasoline or deisel.

Nothing to do with “more fast food”! lol, even sounds funny!

thats not a myth…. ran a car on a remote island (with no petrol station) on new vegetable oil. best to mix it with diesel, mainly old cars that can do it though.

Mate did this to a Desiel 97 plate Renualt Espace 100% then changed it to 50% / 50% to make it easyer on the seals

Pls reply.. How do you preheat SVO to be used as fuel? PLEASE…

Yeah, but that frying oil in it’s lifetime has TWO uses, instead of just one. So from a whole economy’s point of view it’s like getting a free lunch, b/c you can sell something twice. Plus if I run my car for 0$ for a hundred miles that’s way more efficient than normal diesel, even if I use 10% more fuel.

It is not the entire episode, they proved different devices that are believed to improve fuel efficiency, like the mgnetos some use in the fuel line. Cooking oil does work, but it is less efficient, yes it is free if you get it from a restaurant that wants to get rid of it, but the fuel efficiency would be 10% worse (who cares if it is free, duh!)

It ran on free cooking oil………so why did they say it was busted? Because still brainwashed by the oil company crap.

Hi
Yes your right.
But to filter the cooking oil from a restaurant or chip shop would be very difficult to get down to the micron level where it would not block the filter.
I wouldn’t like to put it in a new car.
I have used it in my old car until it blocked the filter.
I would say if you have a new car buy some clean vegetable oil.
Cheaper in large quantities.
You need to find out what micron level, the oil filter, filters down too.

cheers.

In 2004, only 41% of new cars had a steel fuel tank. The rest were high density polyethylene. Source: JOM

does it have to used?

yep the solvent is better for a car with no mods cause it thins the oil out and burns alot better

A guy I know runs his car on veg oil, but he has it set up so the oil is heated before it is injected, by the transfer of heat from the cooling system.

Stil has to warm the car up on normal deisel, but after about 5min its ready to go, nice and thin and doesn’t jam up the filters.

best part about it is when you drive behind it, it smells like a fish and chip shop!!

what narrow tubes are u talking about? you filter the oil to remove almost all the impurities. There are no moving parts that the veg oil contacts, that are depending on the viscousity of oil.

WTF are u talking about “fuel lubricates the inside of your piston”? the “inside” of a piston is underneath it, where the gugdeon pin holds the rod on (NOT inside the cylinder where combustion is taking place), and is always splashed with engine oil.

The newer diesels with DPF’s and urea will work but will **** up your 3000$ exhaust system.

FRANCESCO

SVO(Straight Vegatable Oil) works alot better if it is heated to about 100* before it is injected into the engine.

MasterFebo on 23 December, 2009 at 2:52 pm #

DUSTY

secondary issue: veg oil, used or not, is far more complex than the seperated hydrocarbons you get from oil companies. Theres a lot more filthy rubbish in veg oil, which is going to clog up narrow tubes, and remember that normally your fuel is what lubricates the inside of your piston. Veg oil is a lousy lubricator.

If we use electicity as a way of powering our cars, I think we would mostly get the power from coal or nuclear powered stations. IMO, hydrogen is the way to go via hydro-electrics

ELI

The thing is u need to add jus a bit of non cherosine solvent, and it will run even better than on regular diesel.

I think This is Plausible!!!!!!!!!

The thing is: if every car was converted, we would need a **** load of veg oil to fuel up our cars… that would mean we would need more fast food joints… so we would have more fat people and more health problems, so the health system would win more money, more people would die, etc etc… electricity is the way to go… but the oil companies are too powerful to let it happen, so we will all die from polution, and the over heating of our planet… see ya

Hi
I’m not not trying to give a negative comment, just making unsuspecting people aware.
Don’t take my word for it, but ask yourself why aren’t people buying it here any more.
They wont even have it give them.
I haven’t seen any high density polyethylene type fuel tanks over here yet, if you’ve got one then you should be OK..
I’m all for using waste products and alternative fuels, I don’t like the oil companies monopoly,
cheers
